Influence of fouling and clogging of air preheater

The blockage of the boiler air preheater is mainly due to the contact between the ammonia in the catalyst used in the denitration process and the sulfur trioxide in the flue gas. When the temperature is about 230 °C, ammonium hydrogen sulfate will be generated. The ammonia hydrogen sulfate itself has a strong viscosity and will capture smoke. The fly ash in the air will then adhere to the air preheater to form fouling. When the fouling is seriously blocked, it will even form hardening, causing the air preheater, an important heat exchange element, to be blocked.

What are the effects of air preheater blockage?

1. Reduce the heat exchange efficiency of the air preheater. The blockage of the air preheater will seriously affect the heat exchange of the air preheater, especially once the tubular air preheater of the power plant is seriously blocked, it is necessary to stop the furnace to clean up the dust accumulation, and even replace the air preheater in severe cases.

2. Accelerate low temperature corrosion of air preheater. The denitration process is the main reason for the fouling and blockage of the air preheater, and denitration is an important measure to alleviate the low temperature corrosion of the air preheater. Therefore, serious fouling will adversely affect the entire air preheater denitrification process, which is not conducive to alleviating the air preheater. Low temperature corrosion.


3. Low temperature corrosion will increase the air leakage rate. The low-temperature corrosion of the air preheater caused by the blockage of the air preheater will increase the air leakage of the tubular air preheater, which will lead to insufficient air volume required for boiler combustion, reduce the heat exchange effect of the air preheater, and finally have to replace it as a last resort. empty preheater.

4. Steam soot blowing magnifies the hazard of air preheater blockage. At present, steam soot blower is a widely used method to clear the fouling and blockage of the air preheater. However, although steam soot blowing can purge the fouling, its operation reliability is too poor, and it cannot completely clean the heating area of the boiler air preheater. After cleaning, the ash accumulation on the heating surface will become more serious after a long time. In addition, for the tubular air preheater, due to the dense number of tubes on the heating surface, the farther the pipeline is from the soot blower, the worse the soot blowing effect will be. The air preheater is corroded and leaked.
